5.0 out of 5 stars. Best softshell for early winter and windy days!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Jalent Ming from Shanghai on Sunday, November 19, 2017I have two soft shell hoodies from Black Diamond and Decathlon, and this Outdoor Research soft shell is a perfect update: the slim cut made me look stylish, and the fabric help to keep out the wind and stay warm in the early winter days (10 °C/50 °F). BTW, the quality of the chest and hand pocket zippers are superb, they are better than other highend brands!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Typical OR!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Zach from Colorado on Thursday, November 9, 2017Sizing is normal. I’m 5”11 170lbs and the large is perfect size to put over some base layers. I wouldn’t expect anything less from OR. I’ll be using this in Colorado on our 14ers this winter and I’ll be adding it to the mile long list of gear required to climb Mt. Denali!!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Perfect Fit Shoulder Season JackedVerified Buyer Reviewed by postime from Bucks County PA on Wednesday, December 28, 2016I'm 5' 10" and 150lbs and this jacket is a perfect fit in medium. I was concerned because other reviews mention it run long in the arms but short in the body, but this jacket was made for my build. It's warm with layers under down to about 32f. The pockets are perfectly placed, zippers high quality. Another great Outdoor Research item.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice but irregular dimensionsReviewed by Fall Weather Fan from Western MA on Friday, August 28, 2015The XL is bigger than a traditional L, but perhaps not as big as some XLs. Good for layering, which you'll want to do anyway as this is mostly a sturdy windbreaker. Sleeves seem extra long, but there's velcro to tighten up at the wrist. Color in picture is very accurate.
Saw a review expressing dissatisfaction with the hood - I actually like it a lot. Too many jackets have hoods that are big & floppy; visibility isn't compromised by this one at all. Of course if you have a big melon than this might seem a little snug.
Looking forward to exposing this one to some weather! -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Solid light softshellReviewed by k from ohio on Friday, June 26, 2015Solid light softshell, DWR is decent and it is very flexible as an outer layer and appears to be well made. Go to jacket for the past winter. Sizes well for trim individuals.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Good quality with cheap priceReviewed by Anonymous from Seattle on Thursday, March 6, 2014The size is running half smaller comparing the other brands like arc'teryx or pata. The size M of this jacket is just betten size S and size M of the other brands.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very SpecificVerified Buyer Reviewed by jvanguard from spokanistan on Monday, March 19, 2012My only complaint:
If the jacket is completely zipped up, but with the hood down, the upper part of the zipper area pesters my chin a bit, however if you unzip partially my complaint is a non-issue.
This jacket is very specific, and very light weight for a soft shell. You will not be warm if you are not moving! That is the beauty of the jacket, It breaths like a dream and keeps the wind off.
I would recommend, but this jacket is too specific for those trying to stay hip in town between half-calf-no foam whatever coffees. This jacket is like black coffee, it was made for those who can handle it.- Best Uses: High Output Activity
- Pros: Light Weight, Thoughtful Hood, Very breathable, Very Nice Interior, WELL FITTING

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very PleasedReviewed by Andrew B from South Eastern Mass on Friday, March 2, 2012I was looking for something I could use both as a hiking layer and as an around town jacket. I must say that i am very pleased with OR's Transfer jacket. It is comfortable and well made and seems to be quite durable. It is not a winter jacket but with a fleece and base layer underneath I am sure it will handle what ever mother nature throws at it. It is not waterproof, however it does a great job at shedding snow and light rain. It is highly breathable which is huge for hiking with a pack! I love it and I am sure you will too!
- Best Uses: Approach, Around town, Hikingbackpacking, Layering
- Pros: breathable, Cozy hood, Non restrictive, Well Designed
