5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent for mountaineeringReviewed by Emily from Washington on Thursday, January 18, 2018I wore these on a few tough scrambles and snow hikes to break them in, then used them to climb Mt Rainier. My feet stayed warm and DRY. I highly recommend these reliable, comfortable boots. I added Superfeet liners because my feet are thin. Perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great but be cautiousVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Seattle on Friday, October 20, 2017Love these boots but don't use warm water after use to clean. Warm water removes the rubber gortex from the boot. Use dry brush instead. Otherwise love these, great fit and sturdy

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great Lightweight Mountaineering Boots!Verified Buyer Reviewed by S from California on Tuesday, September 26, 2017A nice lightweight boot. Fairly warm and totally waterproof! They work well with crampons and can scramble + climb, but they're comfortable enough to hike too!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable out of the boxVerified Buyer Reviewed by Claire from Flagstaff on Tuesday, April 25, 2017So far I've worn these boots on 3 hikes of 5 miles or less each, with a good bit of elevation gain, and mostly trailless. I've been pleased at how comfortable they are and that they are not nearly as "clunky" or clumsy feeling as I expected. I bought these to replace a pair of La Sportiva Makalu's that I've had for several years and have never really liked. The Scarpa's are comfortably padded but with nice ankle flexibility. I do find the footbed to be a bit hard and may add a cushier insole. I'll be taking these to the mountains of SW Colorado in a couple of weeks to climb Mt Wilson so will have a better sense of snow performance then.
I was a little concerned about sizing. I normally wear a 10.5 running shoe and the US equivalent to the EU sizing was a 10, but I've got plenty of room for thick socks and to wiggle my toes.
