I usually wear small in most jackets such as North Face and Marmot. This one may not fit right if you have average built body. It might be okay if you have very slim body with muscular arms.

The side panels are also a nice touch, and the coat fits well and doesn't restrict arm movement. My husband is 6'1, 220 athletic build, and my brother is 5'10", 240 athletic build with a belly, and the XL fit both very well.
