Nicest Parka I've Ever Owned!Reviewed by Maximum Mark from Portland, Maine USA on Friday, January 18, 2019This jacket is what I classify as a short parka and the XXL fits almost perfectly for my 6'/230-pound frame. The sleeve length is generous, allowing me to reach anywhere and are very comfortable. The hood is roomy enough to wear a "trapper" style hat underneath; actually, I need to roll the faux-fur liner back on itself when I am not wearing a hat, or it is "tunnel vision" time; perfect for extremely windy days.
The hood is removable and has two built-in elastic cinches to snug down the hood opening as well as the back side - and is removable with a wind-proof/flap-covered zipper. The sherpa-lined collar is 4" high and keeps the wind out nicely, and has two snaps at the closure. The back side is also sherpa-lined from the top of the collar to just below mid-back. Very well-designed!!
The brilliant red (I think "IndianRed" is not Politically-Correct) material is bright and repels water and snow easily. The fill/insulation is more than effective and I started sweating wearing only two layers underneath (a regular t-shirt plus a long-sleeve T together) in 5-degree (F) weather.
It features two inside pockets, one is a slanted open-top pocket for a mobile phone (plenty of room for my iPhone 8+) with a small hole with rubber grommet to pass a headphone/microphone cable through, and the second is a smaller pocket layered over it that is good for a couple of pens or cigars. The outer pockets all have two metal snaps to secure them and the lower/side pocket to keep your hands warm have zippers to keep them free of snow. -
