It is very lightweight and can easily be layered underneath a thicker jacket if needed. I live in northern Wisconsin where winters are cold and there’s lots of snow. This jacket keeps me dry while keeping me warm even in The cold snowy climate. I’ve use it for cross-country skiing as well. It breathes well and is insulated perfectly.
