LEKI Naya Speed Lock® Trekking Poles (For Women)

I ordered these Trekking Poles for my daughter's birthday. Even though she has not had a chance to use these trekking poles on her next hike, both she and I did extensive research on these. My daughter saw these poles at REI and was prepared to purchase them at twice the price, until a huge sale came along from Sierra Trading Post. Most probably there are other items on which REI may be cheaper in price, but Sierra Trading Post is the place to buy these. First of all, my daughter wanted the internal locking height adjustment (called the secure Speed Lock adjustment system), vs. the twisting type of exterior adjustment. Secondly, these Trekking Poles are designed for a woman--length of poles and grip of handle (and, of course, color!). Then when we read that these Leki Poles were designed in Germany and made in the Czech Republic (vs. China), we had just about made up our minds. Lastly, we compared online pricing and this cinched the deal. We will always wonder if cork handles would have been better, but we feel confident that the Germans knew what they were designing and the Czechs manufactured with superior quality products and workmanship. Very happy with this purchase.
