1.0 out of 5 stars. No room for chest, delivered with stainsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Red Rover from Boston on Thursday, January 25, 2018I sent a rather scathing message to Mountain Hardware after I received my jacket. I am sending this back. The cut of the coat is flattering, if you don't intend to move your arms around, and if you are a flat chested woman. I wear a B/C cup bra. I ordered a size medium because the measurements on the small sounded likely to be too tight on me. This coat looks borderline too big for me. However, when I put this jacket on, first thing I encountered was that there isn't room in the coat to reach my arms backwards - like one might do to say, hold on to something, or put on a backpack. Doing so strains the material across the chest. There is plenty of room across the back at this size for me to reach my arms forward without any trouble, but there is no accounting for a woman's chest in this coat. I was further displeased with this item because 1) the color is actually much more like pool water than what is depicted, and 2) the item arrived with stains on it - damaged. So really poor job from Mountain Hardware (now owned by Colombia, I have learned) and poor job by Sierra Trading Post - sending a damaged product.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Warm and teen approvedVerified Buyer Reviewed by 1Beach girl from Raleigh, North Carolina on Thursday, January 25, 2018This was purchased for a teen that is very picky. She loved the color and the warmth. I ordered another jacket by this company last year that I thought this was like- wrong. The fabric is heavier (not as see thru) which contributes to it being more bulky that the other one. It may be pack-able but it does not stow in an interior pocket like the other and does not fit well into a backpack with all school essentials. That said, if not making a comparison to another product it is a very nice item. It does run on the more fitted/smaller side. My daughter is a size (5/7) and the medium fit her and allows her to put a sweatshirt under it. Thumbs up!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Finally!!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Lehayes from Pennsylvania on Wednesday, January 24, 2018It has taken 4 months to find a good down jacket that fits and is flattering. STP is always great in its speed and customer service (I had to return a couple of other jackets in my quest)

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lightweight but very warmVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from South Carolina on Thursday, January 18, 2018This jacket, despite its specs, really surprised me. When I first took it out of the box and tried it on I could not believe how lightweight and thin it was. All of my warmest coats have been quick bulky and heavy. Even though Mountain Hardwear is a reputable brand I did have my doubts as to how warm this jacket would be. I had been looking for something warm, particularly for days when I am out trail riding for hours in the winter when it dips into the 20s and 30s. This jacket exceeded my expectations, which is saying something coming from someone who is perpetually cold. I knew I had a winner when I climbed into my car on 30-degree day and drove around for almost 45 minutes before I realized I didn't have the heat on.

I constantly turning the heat off in the car because shes got the heat on full blast. Well we get in the car heats on before I get to the end of the street she's turned the heat off and I'm turning it back on... This is definitely a coat worth the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ferry from Door County on Monday, January 1, 2018This is very nice, lightweight down jacket. Worn it in 20 below zero weather and kept me warm. The sleeves are too long, otherwise it is true to size.

5.0 out of 5 stars. WARM and lightweightReviewed by SW from Pennsylvania on Thursday, December 28, 2017I’ll start by saying I have had a Columbia system jacket for close to 10 years which has been fantastic in all the winter weather we get in northwestern Pennsylvania. I had been looking to replace it with a down jacket but was skeptical. I received this as a Christmas gift and did not hand pick it. I was having a hard time believing that a jacket this thin and lightweight was going to be warm enough for those teens and single digit and below zero days still ahead for the winter. Well I didn’t have to wait to try it out as the 3 days since Christmas the highest temperature we’ve had is 14 degrees. I have worn it to run errands and go for a 20 minute walk in 3 degrees. I’m a believer! It’s worth every penny of the original msrp. I read many reviews of other down jackets by people describing 30 or 40 degrees as their “cold”, not especially helpful for the arctic blasts we’re prone to, so if you need a coat for truly frigid weather then look no further. Also, the inside pocket is big enough for my Vera Bradley wristlet, which is a bonus. I also really like the color. As far as size, I’m about 115# 5’2” and a small fits great and had room for layering without feeling tight or bulky. I would definitely purchase it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Not as snug as their other small jacketsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from PH on Wednesday, May 24, 2017Size: If you're normally an S, get the XS for this jacket. I own another small Mountain Hardwear down jacket of a different model that fit quiet snuggly. I was surprised Small was a little big for me. It was loose on the underarms and on the side even after a 1 or 2 layers. I would still use it though!
Color: color is red but actually closer to orange. -
3.0 out of 5 stars. Slightly disappointedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Idaho on Tuesday, May 16, 2017I loved my product wore it to church however the fowl smell was unbearable and nauseating. I called your company but you didn't have a mother one like it. So I took a chance and washed it with Dreft Detergent it helped but I still had to was it again. Still smelled I hang it out in the fresh air and Sun. It is now more bearable as long as I don't put it up to my nose. Thank you It would be nice of you to give me some rebate for all my trouble. Thank you I'am keeping it so thank you God bless your company very efficient otherwise.
