I have a medium to wide foot and normally wear a women's 7. I ordered these in size 38 and they fit nicely with a medium weight sock. I can't speak to their waterproofness yet, but I'm my previous experience, Gore-Tex lining works well, at least for the first couple of years. The traction is excellent on loose, rubbly, steep terrain.

These shoes are extremely comfortable out of the box. True to size.
We got caught by rain on a top of the trail on an rocky and slippery terrain.
I wasn't worried for my wife at all, shoes handled these conditions with ease. No slips, didn't wet her feet.
They look fantastic and the is very nice

However, walked all over Spain for a week and never had any problems with my feet aching. I have a closet full of walking shoes (ahnu, Merrell, Treva,) not one compares to this one. Unfortunately they didn’t have a 41.5 or 42 so I ordered a 41. It’s a bit short. But I am now a La Sportiva addict. This accept an ortho insert well. I wanted a second pair to wear for garden work.

I was heartbroken. They had already been to several different countries, and many different West Coast hikes with me. These are the perfect balance of performance and mobility for me. They're sturdy, and the tracking on the sole works great, even in dusty, slippery California hiking. But, they're much more lightweight than a couple of my previous pairs, which is important for me, especially for long treks. Heavy hiking shoes hurt my feet, and make me trip a lot more. I like to be able to move freely. I was so happy when I saw that Sierra had a pair! And for half of what I paid when I first bought them. They've already been put to good use.
