2.0 out of 5 stars. Disappointed with BreathabilityReviewed by utahpete from UT/WY on Sunday, March 12, 2017I really wanted to like this one, but it went back. Wore it skiing twice, really disappointed with the breathability on this jacket. Both days were powder days in the low 20's, couldn't seem to dissipate the heat or moisture generated by hard top to bottom runs. I had no insulation layer underneath, compression tank and a light t-shirt only. Really suffers from the lack of pit-zips.I've got another Dry-Q elite shell that has pit zips and the difference is night and day. Fit was good ( for me) 5'9" 200, XL left room for light fleece or down layer if needed, I like a little room inside.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Like an military ECWSVerified Buyer Reviewed by UnderTheRadar from Illinois on Saturday, March 4, 2017Solid wind and water shield has some insulation but not much. This jacket reminds me of the military gore tex ECWS jacket but not in camo and no velcro map pockets. Size is a touch longer in hem and sleeve length than I expected. Jacket has no real insulation but has enough layers that it will keep in some heat. About perfect when temps are about 50F (10C) with light to moderate activity. Used during 30F (0C) with high winds and was chilled across shoulders and arms, now wear a fleece layer under for those conditions.
Main zipper is two way, one can unzip from the bottom to allow more leg/hip movement.
NO pit zips. The handwarmer pockets will function like a pit zip and are far back so that one's arm will likely block light rain.
Hood has a few adjustments available, it is large so it will cover helmet but can be adjusted to be OK with just one's head. Large enough to sometimes be bothersome when not in use.
Chest pocket larger than expected, about 9" x 6" (23cm x 16cm).
Sleeves cut long, cuff is adjustable. I found the long sleeves useful, great range of motion for arms, also allows to pull hands into the sleeve for protection from rain and wind if needed.
Length is a bit long so it protects hips but zipper bottoms out low and one needs to get under jacket to access trouser pockets. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. very nice jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Grey Bull from Wyoming on Friday, September 23, 2016meets my expectations in every way. Only gave it four stars because I haven't worn it for skiing yet, but I anticipate a good experience. Fit is awesome - 6'0", 195 lbs, large, I'm a fairly muscular build. I don't expect I'll be able to get a lot of fluffy layers under it, though. I will complain a little about the persistent crease mid-garmet from shipping, not that it's a big issue. If it were folded in a different spot, the crease wouldn't be so bad.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very HappyReviewed by Anonymous from Washington on Saturday, June 27, 2015I purchased this jacket while training to climb Mt. Rainier in Washington. I've used it primarily over a light base layer top and climbed to Camp Muir 3 times and Mt. Baker once while wearing it. We've not had much rain, but in the rain it kept me dry and well ventilated. I tend to run quite hot and the jacket breathes quite well, while roped up and climbing. I was hesitant to choose this over a Gore Tex from Arcteryx, I actually ordered this one and a comparable jacket from them through Sierra, and sent the Arcteryx back. This one is a tad heavier, 4 OZ. +/-, but has been rock solid. Your mileage may vary. Best of luck.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Amazing SoftshellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Marinejoker from NEW YORK,NY on Friday, February 27, 2015Let me begin by saying I was skeptical about this product as I have always worn another well-known brand.
I took my chances and purchased this product and much to my surprise wore it on one of the coldest (10 F) days in NYC.
I walked around the city with a shell underneath, and two simple layers, and much to my surprise I didn’t feel the brisk wind and chill that the elements had in store on that day.
I wore it later in the evening and again I was surprised how the wind and harsh cold weather did not penetrate the jacket.
I’m a true believer this jacket is phenomenal in its performance, and craftsmanship. I would highly recommend this jacket. -
