  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great for limited use so far

I've worn this in 25F to 50F weather, with and without wind with variable under layers. Best use was yesterday's 5.5 mile hike in windy 30F weather with decent elevation changes. Worked up a sweat that dissipated quickly but stayed comfortable because the wind didn't cut through the Windstopper fabric. Wore a Mammut Alphatec synthetic vest over a LS 150 Merino Smartwool and was just on the cool side the whole day. Uphills unzipped the ROM or the vest or both, flats and down hill or in wind zipped up one or both as necessary. Good durability, great pockets, easy access under a daypack. Didn't bunch up. The hood is great, as well. Good peripheral vision. I got the L when I usually wear an XL and it fits well. I'm 67', 223lbs, 38" waist in a 46L suit coat.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
