5.0 out of 5 stars. Bought this for my girlfriend

I bought this for my girlfriend as she lives in Scotland and it rains in everyday. She has used it nearly everyday and went hiking in the mountains around where she lives and has had zero complaints it fits her perfectly as well. Very good product and does the job great.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. No pit zips

A description of this jacket on another website said this jacket had pit zips. It does not if you are looking for waterproof and venting look elsewhere. Chest pockets awkward for holding any gear. Runs slightly small in the hips. I do have a pear shape figure. 5'9" 160# ordered XL, returning it. Sleeve length was adequate.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Very trim fit

I love Mountain Hardwear. Almost all my technical gear is made by them. I am a very tall, average athletic build, and the fit is always great; nice long sleeves, appropriate fit through torso.
This jacket was extremely trim and fitted through the torso- to a fault. I use is primarily for XC skiing in very cold weather, and breathability is key as it is cold, but I am sweaty- I am confident that the material will perform nicely, but it feels a bit binding. The arms were great.
Additionally, did not love the placement of the pockets- upper chest. To vent at all it would be right over the [...]!
Bought the same jacket for my husband and his jacket had pockets for venting in a more appropriate place, lower down,
So I am going to try a different model.
Very first dissatisfaction with MH fit!
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Feminine yet functional

Purchased this for hiking and snowshoeing in the Pacific NW. The XL is trim but not too tight, allowing for layering. Nice to look like a woman and not the Michelin man. Have not yet been able to test this jacket in the cold, but will report back.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
