It's close fitting, warm, lightweight, and full of functional pockets with smooth zippers. It seems very breathable for a jacket in its class. Both the sleeve and hem length is perfect. The only issue is if I were to cross my arms hard, the front of my shoulders would be uncomfortable. Yet I don't see that any of my foreseeable activity would require that so the issue is moot. For best fit, imo. one should be at the lower half of his size, otherwise consider sizing up to avoid having to return it. Thanks STP for the bargain price.

I've seen the super layer at around $110 and never pulled the trigger but when I saw it here at $56, I couldn't get it fast enough. I went back for another one but they sold out. No surprise really.
Anyway, I tried this one on right out of the box and a large fit me beautifully. I usually wear a medium but prefer large with OR gear as I find they are a bit too snug for my taste. If you are a medium and like it snug, then go with a medium here. If you are like me and are a medium but like a little room, then size up to large like I did. Great comfort and soft material. This will be an outstanding mid layer under a light wind blocking shell or just as outstanding on its own on cold days that aren't too windy. On a cold and rainy day, put your OR Foray jacket over this superlayer and you are protected against whatever Mother Nature throws at you, baby! Really comfortable inner layer on this jacket, great zips and design. Neck closure is nice and keeping the heat in, too. A+ for Outdoor Research and STP's deal here. -

It is a midweight jacket that could work well with layers. However, as mentioned in previous reviews, the arms are just too tight, and the jacket doesn't have sufficient armhole space. Ordered this in two colors - blue and gray - to give the gift recipient a choice, but the fit was off so both were sent back.
