Scarpa Margarita Shoes - Suede (For Women)

These shoes seemed big at first-but then I realized with the lacing going to the toe you can adjust the snugness of the shoe for thin socks or for thick hiking socks. Firm sole works good for mountain biking or hiking. Toe protector nice for hiking and daily maintenance work. Shoe wise enough to fit my orthopedic inserts which make the shoe comfy and wearable all day!

I was in need of some hiking/approach shoes and have always liked the Scarpa brand. This is a good looking shoe and I think the sole would have been perfect however, they are a pretty wide shoe and also run large length-wise. I normally wear a 38.5 to 39. The 38 in this shoe was still too big. I thought about trying a size down but think they will be too sloppy for technical scrambling. If you have a wide foot this shoe would be great!

I'm hesitant to buy shoes online because you can't try them on, but, these are great shoes. I recently had ankle surgery and have hammer toes and these shoes accommodate both. The toe box is roomy and the rest of the shoe fits well. I was looking for a wide shoe and these fit the bill, I ordered my regular size. May have to order another pair for when these wear out!

A friend in Germany had a pair of Scarpas that I loved so I finally ordered a pair for myself. I must say I am very disappointed. These are not the soft Italian leather/suede as described and I expected. These are 40% recycled SYNTHETIC leather. They are stiff, hard, and thus uncomfortable. These are made in China and have a cheap feel, not the Italian quality I expected (though the description does say "Made in China", I still expected Italian quality). They look and feel like Scarpa knock-offs. I specifically made sure I ordered women's shoes because I have narrow feet, yet these appear to be unisex (has both men's and women's sizing on box and inside shoes). They feel loose and clunky on my narrow feet. Length wise they seem about right. I normally wear a women's 9 and I ordered the 40.5 (called a women's US 8 2/3 and a men's 7 2/3 inside the shoe). I waited a long time to get a pair of Scarpas but these are going back! Very disappointed.

Very wide and clunky, yet nice-looking shoe. Sizing on the box conflicted with sizing inside the shoe. Fit like a W width, but the box said it was a medium width. Decided not to gamble again on trying another size and they went back.
