I think the cut is for much younger women. Nice pants, and I did keep them. I prefer the nylon fabric over polyester, as the polyester is far too hot for me. Nylon seems to breathe better.

I like the overall fit of the pants throughout the legs - I have a muscular build and they had just enough looseness in the legs and butt. The material is stretchy and I could easily do yoga in them. The strings on the legs are nice for making the pants shorter, but I personally like the longer version. Rated a four because I don't necessarily like the strings on the legs and would've preferred the usual cuff and button.

Even though I like my hiking pants loose, these were huge, so I exchanged them for a sz 2. They got perfectly - sit on the hips a bit (as I prefer) and have an internal drawstring so you don't have to wear a belt, if you don't want, making them perfect for travel.
The fabric has a bit of stretch and they are comfortable. The drawstrings on the lower legs allows you to raise them up above the ankles. I think the fabric is a little "swishy", but the coating probably makes it more durable. -
