Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Sleeves are long enough!

There is not a single thing about this jacket that I don't like but, as a backpacker, I'll point out a couple of things that would make this even more perfect.
Pros:
The picture made the jacket look shiny, it is not, it's matte on the outside with some of the typical shiny down jacket fabric on the inside.
You can feel the stretch and the jacket hugs your form without being tight.
The sleeves are long enough--it's been years since I've purchased a women's jacket with long enough sleeves
It's warm and "puffier" than the uber-lightweight down jackets
I went on a 3 day backpacking trip with this jacket in 38-50F weather with rain--more than warm enough, definitely water repellent

Possible Cons:
Bulky for hiking-this is not a jacket you can compress into a pocket (it fit perfectly into my sleeping bag pillow sleeve and was the most comfortable pillow I've used, though)

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. another winner from Mountain Hardwear

The jacket is true to size, bigger in the shoulders than the ghost whisperer jacket. The teal is a pretty color and the sleeves are plenty long (I'm 5'9").
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket

I love the warmth, color and feel the most. I’m 5’3 short-waisted and the length is perfect. Fit is snug. Warms me right up.

I bought this jacket with myself or my college age daughter in mind. The package arrived. I never got a chance to try it on. She loves it. She is broader shouldered but a smaller person and this fit well. It also was a great neutral color and most of all light and warm.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Good looking and warm

I tend to order a lot of MH products because I know they will fit me. I'm 5'10, 160 lbs, long arms, not particularly curvy, but not straight either! I am always pleased with size L with this brand. This jacket is no exception. The color is a sort of matte stone--light moss. Not green. It's muted and very outdoorsy looking. I've gotten compliments on it already. It IS stretchy. It is warm too, but probably not good for temps too much below 30, and not even that if there's wind. It was perfect with a sweatshirt and scarf at an oyster roast, temps about freezing. It has sufficient pockets, is made well, is long enough both in torso and esp. arms, and the collar comes us high enough to keep the wind out. Interior pockets as well. For the price, really hard to beat. For one more year, I've delayed the investment in a Patagonia jacket. As long as I find products like this--well made, attractive, functional, and light--I'm sticking with MH.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent coat for the winter

I get cold easily and needed a coat that would keep the frigid cold air out, the warmth in and that was not bulky or stiff. I fell in love with this coat pretty quickly and get lots of compliments on it. Love all the interior pockets too! It is a soft material with a matte finish. There is no leakage of feathers what so ever. Highly recommend this coat!
