This jacket is overrated and does not fit the bill of a soft shell jacket since the material does not give, at all. The overall fit is fine and it's nearly fitted, yet the shoulder area could use more room. For reference, I take a small size in almost anything, at 5'6", 140 lbs, fit but not muscular. If the fabric had any spandex in it, it probably would fix that issue. I also doubt its ability to cut the wind; it is thick and that shear fact may slow down the wind a bit. I'd say a good quality fleece jacket/hoodie would be comparable. The design and construction is fine. I would not wear this any more than running errands. For active pursuits, find something else. Hope it helps.

True to size - but bear in mind that going a bit larger than usual to allow room for wearing over a fleece increases the utility....

Might be OK if you plan on wearing with a puffy insulation layer, but with the fleece interior, I was planning to avoid that, and would wear with just a shirt underneath.
Gonna try a medium. For the first time in 30 years. I'm 6'0" 183 lbs. average build. -
