Bought these specifically to hike the sand dunes in Death Valley, Ca.
I cannot give enough accolades on the excellant performance.
Sweat wicking-- great
Light weight---great
Sun protection---great
sizing---great
pockets/placement---great
belt loop placement---good
117 degree heat in Death Valley---no problem. I will wear these pants again if I ever return to Death Valley.
Now, all that said, I have not tried them in the SC humidity. This test comes in the fall.

I'm 6'2" 245 lb I usually wear a 40 x 34 in jeans. I bought a grey and a navy blue pair of these in 40" waist. They fit perfectly for me. The shorts are a good length and the pant legs are too. Very comfortable waistband and they resist moisture. ( I spilled coffee on them and wiped it right off no stain or even a hint that i had coffee on the pant leg.

About Marmot

Conceived in a university dorm room by a pair of climbing buddies, Marmot Mountain Works first opened its doors in the spring of 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado. At the time, the base of operations was a 100-year-old stone building. That same year, the first Marmot down jacket was produced specifically for an action flick called “The Eiger Sanction,” starring legendary actor Clint Eastwood. In the four decades since, Marmot has continued to engineer reliable gear that exceeds the expectations of outdoor athletes. Today, Marmot tents, backpacks, outerwear, clothing and Marmot sleeping bags are still pushing the limits in the planet’s most challenging conditions, from the summits of the world’s highest mountains to the deepest river basins.
